THE PROJECT GENERALLY CONSISTS OF improving the existing Sherrills Ford Convenience Center by constructing an additional entrance, access road, and elevated drop-off pad. The new drop-off area will include a pre-fabricated attendant shelter to receive electrical service and retaining wall with an integrated railroad tie railing. Additional improvements will include concrete and asphalt pavement, concrete pads for compactors and containers, storm drains, security cameras and lighting, and a new fence with gates at the three entrances/exits with an additional gate at the new access road entrance Questions regarding the intent or Scope of Work must be delivered in writing to Scott Burwell via email (scott.burwell@mcgillassociates.com). To be given due consideration, questions must be received by 5:00 pm on July 15, 2025. Responses will be issued via addendum through the ONLINE site and the designated County website for use by prospective bidders. Provide Written Answers Owner July 17, 2025 by 5:00 PM ET All bids must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or original bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total base bid amount made payable to Catawba County. A Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment bond, each in the amount equal to 100% of the Contract Sum, will be required to be furnished at the execution of the Contract Documents. Project shall be completed within 240 Calendar Days after issuance of a Notice to Proceed. EVENT PRE-BID NOTE: Any Bidders who are not present by 10:00 AM will not be able to participate in the pre-bid conference. Catawba County reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities as may be permitted by law. The County reserves the right to postpone bid openings for its own convenience.
