Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Garner, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The project consists of the following major items for the existing track improvements: Full Depth Reclamation of the entire parking lot including the bus lot Installation of new parking lot asphalt surface. Removal and replacement of surface mounted speed bumps and installing new surfaces mounted speed bumps. Grind vertical faults at sidewalk and curb and gutter. Remove and replace concrete curb and gutter. Remove and replace concrete sidewalk. Bidding Documents include this Invitation to Bid, and the following attached forms: Form of Proposal, sample contract, Sales Tax Report, School Access Requirements, MBE forms, Board of Education Policies. The bidding documents also include the plans and specifications, and any Addenda issued prior to receipt of bids. All requirements and obligations of the Bidding Documents are hereby incorporated by reference into the Contract Documents and are binding on the Successful Bidder upon award of the contract. Each Bidder by submitting his Bid represents that he has read and understands that Bidding Documents and his Bid is made in accordance therewith; and Bidder agrees to be bound by the terms and requirements set forth in the Bidding and Contract Documents; that he has visited the site, has familiarized himself with the local conditions under which the Work is to be performed herein, and has correlated his observations with the requirements of the proposed Contract Documents. July 1, 2025 Notice of intent to Award July 7, 2025 Contract and supporting documents due back from GC July 18, 2025 Notice to Proceed August 15, 2025 Substantial Completion August 28, 2025 Final Completion August 15, 2026 Eleven Month Warranty Inspection All questions concerning the project shall be submitted in writing directly to Randall Moore, Summit Design and Engineering Service, 320 Executive Court, Hillsborough, NC 27278 or via e-mail at randall.moore@summitde.com Bidders will be required to show evidence that they are licensed to perform the work in the Bidding Documents as required by North Carolina General Statute, Chapter 87 and the Instructions to Bidders. The Wake County Public School System reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the School System. The Wake County Public School System also reserves the right to require any bidder to submit information needed to determine if said bidder is responsible within the meaning of N.C. Gen. Stat. 143-129. Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid must accompany each Bid and shall be subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. The Owner is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages bidding by small, minority and female contractors and does not discriminate on the basis of handicapped status. Bids from qualified disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) are encouraged. Bidders shall be required to submit with their Bids affidavits of "Good Faith Efforts" in the recruitment of Minority Businesses. Bidders and Sub-bidders shall promptly notify the Design Consultant of any ambiguity, inconsistency or error which they may discover upon examination of the Bidding and Contract Documents or of the site and local conditions. No interpretation of the meaning of the drawings, specifications or other contract documents will be made to any Bidder orally. B. Every request for such interpretation should be in writing addressed to the Design Consultant with a copy forwarded to the Owner. C. Any and all such interpretations and any supplemental instructions will be in the form of written addenda to the Bidding Documents which, if issued, will be transmitted to all prospective Bidders (at the respective addresses furnished for such purposes) not later than three calendar days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. Neither the Design Consultant nor the Owner will be responsible for any other explanations or interpretations of the proposed documents. Failure of any Bidder to receive any such addendum or interpretation shall not relieve any bidder from any obligation under his bid as submitted. All addenda so issued shall become part of the Contract Documents.
