The Ute Mountain Ute Tribe is interested in updating the tribal transportation safety plan that will assist the tribe in identifying safety issues. Public safety, particularly the safety of the transportation system, has been a priority for the Tribe. The safety plan process is intended to outline existing policies and programs, and evaluate projects and recommendations to improve transportation safety of the UMUT, the tribal membership, and the community. The plan will also enable the UMUT to secure funding for road improvement and safety. The safety plan requirement is to create a new transportation safety plan for the UMUT, including: o Collection and analysis of existing safety efforts and policies. o PE firm shall identify transportation safety issues. o Review the recent plans for UMUT. o Collect data from the Tribe, local law enforcement, the Colorado Department of Transportation and other jurisdictions. o The PE firm will conduct meetings with tribal staff, other agencies, and the community. o The research should be data-driven. o PE firm shall write the safety plan. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
