Site work for a civil project in Ottawa, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The City of Ottawa Infrastructure and Water Services Department is seeking a licensed well contractor to install a liner, replace the pitless adaptor and steel barrel, and replace the submersible well pump and motor on Well #2 of the Carp Communal Well System, located at 135 Salisbury Street in Carp, Ontario. The results of the recent inspections indicated that the well casing and pitless adaptor had experienced significant corrosion and required corrective repairs, including the installation of a liner, and replacement of the pitless adaptor and steel barrel. In addition, the results of pump performance testing indicated that the pump unit was underperforming and should be replaced. As such, the overall scope of repairs includes: Well pump performance testing Video inspections and bond log Pitless adaptor and barrel replacement Well casing relining Pump, motor, wire and foot valve replacements Sounding tubes installation Well disinfection and reinstatement Data analysis, trending, and reporting In addition to the primary scope items outlined above, the following general requirements must also be satisfied: a) Clean and sanitize all parts, devices, materials and well construction equipment, as per the recommendations provided in the "Sanitary Practices" section in Chapter 8 "Well Disinfection, MECP guidelines for Water Supply Wells: Requirements and Best Practices". b) Install all materials, equipment and hardware according to manufacturer specifications. c) Ensure that all equipment, parts, devices, materials that will come into contact with water shall be certified to meet the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) International Standard 61 "Drinking Water System Components - Health Effects". Each component certification is to be verified by searching NSF/ANSI Standard 61, footnote 1[1], Approved Drinking Water System Components database, and by the presence of an NSF logo on the equipment. Records of compliance with NSF/ANSI Standard 61 shall be presented upon request. d) Exercise caution with respect to the placement of heavy equipment in relation to underground piping to avoid damage to underground services. A bid deposit of ten percent (10%) of the Contract Price, in the form of an electronic bid bond, is required with this RFT.
