The Cherokee County Board of Education is seeking design-work related to roof replacement at Andrews Elementary School 1952 Primary Building Wing in the Cherokee County School District. The Board of Education is hereby soliciting responses from capable and experienced design/engineering firms for the complete replacement of the existing roofing system at Andrews Elementary School 1952 Primary Building Wing, located at 205 Jean Christy Ave., Andrews NC 28901. The building is 1-story and totals approximately 11,660 square feet in area (footprint). The Owner desires the building to remain in operation throughout the reroofing work. It is incumbent upon the Design Firm to form a team that fully addresses the needs and requirements of the Owner. Design services will be procured through a qualification-based selection process, without regard to fee, in accordance with G.S. 143-64.31, G.S. 143.64.32 and G.S. 115C-521(E). Scope of Work: Provide professional design and engineering services for the replacement of the Andrews Elementary School 1952 Primary Building Wing roof including but not limited to: 1. Professional services, engineering, and consulting needed for design development. 2. Review of existing roofing, roof mounted equipment, drainage systems, flashing, and related building envelope conditions. 3. Site evaluation for phasing strategies 4. Review of original building and roof architectural, structural, and design plans. 5. Adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and guidelines. 6. Coordination / approvals with all regulatory agencies. 7. Preparation of materials, colors, estimated costs, and schedules for review by owner. 8. Schematic Design, Design Development, Details, Specifications, and Construction Documents 9. Preparation of all necessary sets of plans, details, and specifications for all components of the selected roofing system and all other work required for completion of the project. 10. Preparation of bid documents and bid process. 11. Construction Administration 12. Contract administration including; oversight of and documentation of project meetings, review and approval of submittals, review and approval of change orders and pay applications. 13. Construction observation and documentation as required. 14. Oversight of project close out processes including final acceptance and approvals, manufacturer's warranty acceptance and final inspections to include occupancy.
