Site work for a water / sewer project in Omaha, Nebraska. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

This project's work will consist of the Replacement of a water supply line at Omaha Public Works, District 1 Street Yard, as depicted in the attached plan and specifications. City of Omaha is requesting bids from qualified companies, herein called Bidder, Contractor, Vendor, Supplier, or other pronouns used in their place, for all work and/or goods set forth in the specifications. Requirement for Bid Bond: The surety company issuing the bid bond should be licensed by the State of Nebraska and listed on the current edition of Circular 570 of the United States Department of the Treasury. Acceptable substitutes for a bid bond: a certified check, an official bank check, a cashier's checks drawn on a national bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the state, payable to City of Omaha, or lawful money of the United States, or a United States Government Bond (negotiable). LETTERS OF CREDIT ARE NOT AN ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTE FOR A BID BOND AND WOULD BE CAUSE FOR REJECTION OF BID. The bid bond amount is listed in the Attributes section. Question Deadline 07/01/2025 at 2:00 PM CT Bidders must submit bid questions in the online. All questions shall be submitted via email to steven.gustafson@cityofomaha.org. A copy of the bid bond/acceptable substitute shall be uploaded in the Response Attachments section. The original document must be received by the City Clerk, 1819 Farnam Street LC-1, Omaha-Douglas Civic Center, Omaha, NE 68183 within seven (7) calendar days of the closing date and time indicated. Anticipated Notice to Proceed date: Wednesday, 8/6/2025 This project involves the replacement of the water service suppling the Vehicle Storage and Brine Buildings located at 1816 Jaynes Street. The supply line consists of 6-inch & 4-inch ductile iron and 2-inch copper pipe. The scope of work includes everything necessary (materials, equipment, labor and misc. items) for the complete replacement of water distribution system to include but not limited to; piping (ductile iron and copper), V-BIO Enhanced Polywrap, valves, fitting, transitions, a new fire hydrant and PIV for a complete project. 1. All work shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's installation recommendations and specifications. All work and materials shall be in accordance with local, state, and federal codes and local rules and regulations. Any known violations of codes shall be reported to the Facility Management Representative immediately. 2. Contractor shall meet all federal, state and local codes. 3. The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all permits and paying all fees for construction. City permits will be issued at no charge. 4. This project is State and City sales tax exempt. 5. The Contractor shall execute his work in an orderly fashion and efficient manner such that the finished function and appearance of his work shall be of the highest quality. 6. The Contractor shall remove all debris generated by his work and shall broom-clean areas affected by him daily. 7. Contractor may hook up to any existing power in the buildings as long as it does not interfere with the Owner's operation of the building or workplace. 8. Contractor shall not restrict or close any entrance or exit into building grounds, nor interfere with the operation of this Facility without the Facility Management Representative's approval. 9. The Contractor shall continuously maintain adequate protection of all his work from loss or damage and shall protect the Owner's property from injury or loss arising in connection with work on this contract. The Contractor shall take care to avoid damage to any existing equipment, fencing, sewers, sidewalks, landscaping, grounds, above ground or underground installations or structures of any kind, and shall be held responsible for any damage that does occur. Any damage that does occur shall be replaced at Contractor's expense. 10. By submitting a bid proposal, it is understood and agreed by the Contractor that he has, by careful examination of the site, satisfied himself as to the nature and location of the work; the conformity of the work area, the character, quality, and quantity of materials to be used; the character of equipment and facilities incidental to the completion of the work; the general and local conditions; and any other matters which may in any way affect the work under this contract.
