Under these Specifications the Contractor shall perform all work comprises of the construction of approximately 630 linear feet of 15-inch Vitrified Clay Pipe (VCP) sewer main, manholes and appurtenances by open trench construction in accordance with contract drawings and specifications; performing trench sheeting, shoring and bracing per California Labor Code; performing trench backfill, pavement removal and replacement per the encroachment permit issued by the City of Moreno Valley, construction of approximately 420 linear feet of 16-inch High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) sewer main within a 36-inch minimum steel casing by a trenchless guided or steerable technology across Freeway 60, in accordance with contract drawings and specifications and per the encroachment permit issued by the California Department of Transportation. The work also includes the installation of six (6) 48-inch polymer concrete manholes, rehabilitation of five (5) existing manholes, abandonment of four (4) existing manholes, abandonment of approximately 1,200 linear feet of existing VCP sewer pipe, and removal and replacement of 8-inch water line in accordance with contract drawings and specifications. The work also includes the rehabilitation of one existing manhole by rechanneling the manhole base and adding stop gates located at the intersection of Indian Steet and Summerfield Drive per Appendix G.
