Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Moreno Valley, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a 2,301-square-foot, one-story above grade water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
Under these Specifications, the Contractor shall complete construction of the Kalmia Tank Booster Pump Station, including associated grading and site civil improvements; the suction pipeline from the Kalmia Tank 24-inch supply line to the Booster Pump Station, the discharge pipeline within the Booster Pump Station and on Kalmia Avenue, installation of a new pressure regulating valve (PRV) station located within the Kalmia Tank site, and demolition of an existing underground PRV and associated piping just south of the intersection of Slawson Ave and Kalmia Avenue, all in accordance with these specifications and the contract drawings. The work generally consists of the following: On-site grading and appurtenant site work including, but not limited to, demolition, clearing and grubbing as required; rough and finish grading; import and/or export material as required; vegetation removal as required; temporary fencing; site AC paving and class II base; masonry block perimeter wall and gates; a mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) wall; masonry pilasters; drainage improvements; landscaping and irrigation; preparing and implementing SWPPP; and miscellaneous on-site related work. Pump station building with separate pump, electrical, and generator rooms including, but not limited to, concrete footings; reinforced concrete slab; generator foundation; masonry walls (exterior and interior); roof structure and parapet wall; skylights; access hatch; safety equipment; walk doors; rolling door; fans and louvers; air conditioning unit; evaporative cooler unit; floor and roof drains; roof openings. Electrical work and equipment including, but not limited to: electrical power supply and distribution equipment, conduits, conductors, pullboxes, and ducts; utility transformer and meter panel, construction of slab for utility transformer; building lighting; MCC including automatic transfer switch, soft starts, load center as well as service distribution panels and related conduits and wiring and connections; grounding system; security system including control panel, cameras, door and gate contacts, reader, conduits and terminal boxes; furnishing and installing the RTU panel, terminal strips, operator interface terminal; instrumentation equipment and panels; 40' SCADA communications tower, tower concrete footing and related conduits, wiring and connections; unit flow meter conduits, wiring and connections; conduits and wiring for pressure reducing valve units and pressure transducers; standby engine generator including all generator appurtenances, concrete foundation and slabs; conduits, wiring and connections; providing all trenching, pull boxes, conduits, sweeps, wiring, connections, encasements, temporary power, backfilling, compaction, and pavement repair. On-site mechanical work, piping and equipment including, but not limited to: furnishing, delivery and installation of two (2) 75-HP vertical turbine pumping units and motors; proposed pump suction cans, suction piping, discharge piping, and appurtenances for two (2) pump trains and one (1) pressure relief line; pressure relief valve; magnetic flow meters; isolation valves, blow-offs, air valves, couplings, sample points, and various appurtenances; reinforced concrete encasements; trenching and backfill; trench sheeting, shoring, and bracing per California Labor Code; import of backfill material; painting and coating; hydro-testing, miscellaneous testing, chlorination/disinfection, and field start-up and testing. Installation of a grinder pump system on-site and associated 4" PVC gravity sewer laterals and 1 1/4 " HDPE discharge line. On-site and off-site pipeline work, pipeline and appurtenant equipment including, but not limited to: furnishing, delivery and installation of approximately 470 linear feet of 12-inch diameter CML&C steel, 140 linear feet of 8-inch diameter CML&C steel, and 1060 linear feet of 12-inch C900 PVC pipeline; removal of approximately 390 feet of asbestos concrete pipe (ACP) and installation of the aforementioned 12-inch PVC pipeline in its place; installation of a new PRV station; installation and operation of temporary highlines; removal of an existing check valve located within a vault and abandonment of a segment of 12-inch ACP pipeline and appurtenances at the east end of Kalmia Avenue; interconnections to the existing water system and pump station building piping; all pipe joints, including welded/restrained joints; valves, blow-offs, hydrants, air valves, and appurtenances; cathodic protection test stations; trenching; trench sheeting, shoring and bracing per California Labor Code; import of required backfill material as necessary; painting and coating; hydro-testing, miscellaneous testing, chlorination/disinfection and field start-up and testing; dewatering of existing pipelines; asphalt concrete (AC) pavement removal and replacement; restriping; in-kind site improvements and traffic control. Demolition of an existing underground PRV station and associated piping just south of the intersection of Slawson Avenue and Kalmia Avenue, including installation of a new 8" gate valve on an existing ACP line to assist with isolating the demolition area, installation of an 8" PVC pipeline to replace the existing piping; and repair of any sidewalk, curb and gutter, and AC affected.
