Renovation of a fire / police facility in Miami, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

The types of contracts available under the MCC Program are construction projects, facility repairs, neighborhood improvements, emergency repairs and maintenance work with a maximum value of $5.0M; ORD 09-101. All capital departments are participating. Additional opportunities are available through Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) which enables low-income families to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. Funds are used to improve the energy performance of dwellings by families in need, using the most advanced technologies and testing procedures available in the housing industry. Measures to make homes more energy efficient include: replacement or installation of key components, installation of energy recovery ventilation systems including bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans and installation of whole mechanical exhaust systems to provide better indoor air quality, install attic insulation, install window solar films, repair or replace inefficient cooling units, repair or replace water heaters and address air infiltration with weather stripping, caulking thresholds, minor wall repairs, ceiling and floors, windows and doors. The work in general consists of the following: Interior/Exterior renovations which include all existing bathrooms, renovation of new kitchen in stainless steel (countertops and backsplash to be unpainted stainless) with new appliances, new HVAC system with new duct work, new acoustical ceilings with new lighting package, new exterior windows and storefront replacements, miscellaneous CMU & Brick work and repainting of the fire station both interior and exterior. The proposed new windows and doors are to be Miami-Dade County approved Impact Resistant with current NOAs. The scope is to be inclusive of removing the existing windows and doors with all the ancillary accessories accompanied...i.e. Kantech card reader systems, existing hurricane shutters, door sensors, electric door strikes, all existing doors hardware & Lock systems to be replaced with new (refer to plans and specs for details in door schedule remarks), etc. All (3) exterior Roll-up doors are also to be replaced with Miami-Dade county approved systems having current NOAs, and meeting current wind load calculations, inclusive of new commercial grade motors, door sensors and push-button controllers. The contractor is to refer to plans and specifications provided with the RPQ and Bid documents.
