Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The project shall generally consist of the certain roadway improvements to Garden Road & Beechwood Drive in the Borough of Shrewsbury, including roadway base repair, HMA milling, curb construction, HMA resurfacing, construction of drainage improvements, turf restoration and incidental improvements. Bids must be accompanied by an agreement of surety (consent of surety) furnished by only those sureties who meet the requirements set forth in N.J.S.A. 2A:44-143, wherein the surety company agrees to post a performance bond of 100% of the awarded amount, and a payment bond of 100% of the awarded amount, if the contract is awarded in principal. The aggregate sum of both bonds shall therefore equal 200% of the total contract price. A further guaranty (surety) accompanying all bids shall be given in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, but not in excess of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) made payable to the Borough of Shrewsbury and shall be given in the form of a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond from a reputable insurance company. THIS 10% GUARANTY IS MANDATORY. If Bidder fails to fully understand any clause or requirement ofthe Contract Documents, the Bidder is responsible to notify the Engineer in writing in advance of the submission of the bid. Also, Bidders shall promptly notify the Engineer of any ambiguity, inconsistency, or error which they may discover upon examination of the Contract Documents or of the site and local conditions. Such inquiries or notices shall be in writing and shall be received by the Engineer at least seven (7) working days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids, weekends and holidays excepted. Inquiries which are received less than seven (7) working days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids may not be answered. Answers will be issued in the form of addenda mailed, delivered or faxed to all parties known by the Engineer as having received a set of the Contract Documents. Only those questions which are answered by written addenda shall be binding. Oral and any other interpretation which may be given will be considered as having no legal effect on either the Bidder or the Owner. Bidders are required to comply with all applicable statutory requirements including the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31, et seq.
