BUSINESS ENTERPRISE PROGRAM (BEP) Illinois Eastern Community Colleges has an aspirational goal that 20% of this projects material and/or labor will involve small, minority-owned, veteran-owned, and/or women-owned businesses in the procurement process. The scope of this project includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the construction of a 19,250 square foot athletic facility including an approximately 10,125 square foot gymnasium constructed as a Pre-Engineered Metal Building structure, and an approximately 9,125 square foot load-bearing steel stud and steel framed structure housing public restrooms, a retail space, a fitness center, locker rooms, offices, storage, and other ancillary spaces. Building systems include domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, fire protection, mechanical hot water boiler, air handlers, ducted VAV system with hot water reheat, grade-mounted condensing units, electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm. A. General Contractor provide 1. Volleyball equipment for gymnasiums and other interior installations: a. Floor sleeves and cover plates. b. Telescoping standards. c. Volleyball nets, rope tensioners, boundary markers, and antennae. d. Protective pads. e. Volleyball equipment transporters and wall storage hooks. A certified check or bank draft, payable to Illinois Eastern Community Colleges District 529, or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. Should the bidder withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the bid date without written consent of the Owner, or fail to execute a satisfactory contract within ten (10) days after the written Notice of Award, the Owner may declare the bid deposit forfeited as liquidated damages. Contractors receiving award shall be required to furnish an approved Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount which shall be in full force and effect for twelve (12) months from the date of acceptance of the work. Bonds shall be furnished within three (3) days following the date of execution of the Contract. The I.E.C.C. Board of Trustees reserves the right to accept or reject any bid or waive informality or errors in bidding, to award the contract to their interests, and to hold the bids for a period of thirty (30) days from the bid date.
