Renovation of a residential development in Pensacola, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.

General Contractors that are licensed, insured, and in good standing with the County are eligible to bid on the attached scope. New contractors with the county are required to submit a letter of insurability agreeing to these requirements. Escambia County may award Line item by Line item for emergency items limited to roofing and septic/sewer services. Rehabilitation of an owner-occupied single-family residence to make homes safe and sanitary within the provisions of federal and state laws, county ordinances and the CDBG repair program. Rehabilitation of the home will include the following tasks as outlined below. If additional tasks beyond those included in the bid are discovered, then additional funds may be allocated for additional tasks pending written approval from the county. This home was built prior to 1978 and therefore is a "target property" under the EPA's RRP Rule, as some painted surfaces may be disturbed. Therefore, the implementation of "safe work practices" is required along with submittal by the RRP contractor of "renovation recordkeeping checklist" form. Federal funds (Escambia County CDBG) are being used to renovate this property. The contract will only be awarded to an EPA Certified Renovation firm. A copy of the firm's certification must be submitted prior to entering into a contract with the said contractor. "The homeowner is responsible for removing all the contents of the rehabilitated areas." ROOFING: Remove existing roof covering to the decking and replace any deteriorated or damaged decking with like, kind, and quality of existing materials. Repair or replace any damaged roof framing to include rafter tails, rafters, and barge rafters. Refasten and certify decking attachment. Install a peel and stick underlayment water barrier. Replace existing drip edge with new metal drip edge. Install new slant-back vents, replace gas vent caps and all flashing as required. Replace all boots with new lead, EPDM, and or metal boots. Install 30-year architectural (CertainTeed Landmark or equivalent) roof shingle as per manufacturer's specifications and/or a self-adhering modified bitumen roof system to any low sloped areas as per the Escambia County Building Code. Then install new shingle over the ridge vents. Budget 320 square feet for damaged decking replacement and install hurricane clips if they are missing. Trim any trees over hanging roof to clear roof by approximately 10' and remove all debris from site. Photographs are required for all stages of construction.
