Demolition and site work for a municipal facility in Salvage, Newfoundland. Completed plans call for site work for a municipal facility; and for the demolition of a municipal facility.

Closing Time: 3:30 PM (NT) This is the first phase (Phase 1) of a two-phase competition: the first phase will evaluate the qualifications of all bidders; second phase (Phase 2) will invite the qualified bidders to provide a financial bid on the project based on the specifications and drawings. Upon award of contract in Phase Two the pre-qualification list will be terminated, no additional contracts will be awarded. The scope of work for this project is the provision of construction activities for the complete building demolition at (Latitude 48.6872, Longitude -53.6432), Salvage, NL, as is more specifically described below and in the Drawings and Specifications. In general, the work consists of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following: .1 Complete demolition, removal and disposal of the existing ice plant building and other miscellaneous items, as shown on the drawings. The building is a two-story structure consisting of both timber and masonry block framing, concrete floor slab and concrete foundation as shown on the drawings. Depending on the Contractor's demolition/removal methodology, hazardous materials may have to be removed and disposed of prior to demolition of the entire building structure. Refer to the Hazardous Building Materials Assessment Report in Appendix A. .2 Clean-up of the existing work area prior to any new site work, as indicated on the drawings. .3 Extension of existing waterline, as shown on the drawings. .4 Coordination with Utility for all electrical disconnects and reconnects, as indicated on the drawings. Existing electrical shed re-work, as indicated on the Electrical Drawing, and reinstatement of the temporary pole location(s). .5 Excavation, including removal of existing topsoil, sodding, and bushes, to reshape existing uplands and to facilitate new granulars, as shown on the drawings. .6 Supply and installation of new rock fill (if required), granulars, and stone barricades, to reinstate the site, as shown on the drawings. Contractor to scarify, re-shape, and compact existing sub-grade prior to placement of new granulars. *The bid list for this project may be incomplete.
