Site work, paving and renovation of a transportation facility in Leesburg, Virginia. Design plans call for site work for a transportation facility; for paving for a transportation facility; and for the renovation of a transportation facility.
This project provides for the relocation and reconstruction of the existing parallel taxiway farther from the runway in order to meet Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards. The project has been broken into two construction phases to facilitate funding opportunities. The estimated completion schedule for this project has been rescheduled based on a new CIP schedule from FAA and is contingent on receiving the funding from the FAA and the Virginia Department of Aviation (DOAV) for eligible portions of the project. This project is in accordance with the 2019 Airport Master Plan. The project is included in the City's 2026-2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of March 6, 2026, per owner, design team identified. This project will not bid until Spring 2027. Construction in Winter 2027/2028. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
