Renovation of a municipal facility in Fairbanks, Alaska. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The City is seeking bids for the installation of dedicated air conditioning units in the Council Chambers. This project will involve the supply and installation of a complete mini-split A/C system with roof mounted condensers and interior chiller units. The City of Fairbanks reserves the right to waive informalities not inconsistent with the law or reject any or all proposals. Per the Fairbanks General Code Sec. 54-163, bid security is required for all construction contracts. Bid security must be in an amount equal to at least: a. Ten percent (10%) of bid amount if bid amount does not exceed $100,000; or b. Ten percent (10%) of the first $100,000 and five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid over $100,000, up to a maximum of $200,000 in security Question Deadline 06/23/2025 at 5:00 PM AKT All questions must be submitted to the Purchasing Agent,Purchasing Contact: Christina Rowlett, Purchasing Agent Phone: 907.459.6779 Email: crowlett@fairbanks.us System Type and Configuration: o Installation of a mini-split A/C system. o Roof-mounted condenser units. o Two to three interior chiller units to be installed within the Council Chambers, with final count to be confirmed during walkthrough. Contractor Responsibilities: o Furnish all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to complete the installation. o Supply and install the mini-split system, including: Condenser units (roof-mounted). Chiller units (interior). All required electrical connections. Structural supports and hardware for rooftop installation. All line sets, conduits, and refrigerant lines. o Perform all necessary roof penetrations with proper sealing methods to ensure roof integrity. Penetrations must not void the existing roof warranty. o Ensure compliance with all local building codes and manufacturer installation requirements. o Perform system start-up and testing to ensure proper operation. Roof Work: o Contractor is responsible for any required penetrations to accommodate condenser units and associated infrastructure. o Penetration work must be coordinated in a way that maintains the existing roof warranty. Any damages or warranty voidance will be the responsibility of the contractor.
