The Cityof Waco is soliciting proposals for the Alice Martinez Rodriguez Park Project,located at 2901 Clay Avenue in Waco, Texas, focusing on the development of nearly40 acres surrounding the current Hart-Patterson Track facility. The projectvision is for a distinctive destination park that accommodates visitors ofdiverse physical abilities, honors the history of the neighborhood, optimizesthe natural features of Waco Creek, and mitigates flood events in the park. Question Deadline 07/21/2025 at 5:00 PM CT Online Portal For Information Contact: Kasey Gamblin, Purchasing Manager, 254-750-8405, or kaseyg@wacotx.gov The project includes a variety of recreational and infrastructure improvements, including upgrades to the existing track and field facility, including restroom, scorers, and office/athletic center buildings, bleachers, ADA parking, walkways, fencing and gates; an All-Abilities Playground, including shade structures; a Gathering Plaza; a new Restroom building and 30x90 shade structure; a Great and Flex Lawn; water play features (i.e., splash pad); Sports Courts; a Skate Park; concrete sidewalks/pathways, stormwater wetlands, including crossings with weirs, and a drainage creek; a proposed parking lot; a new bridge with associated abutments; site lighting; site signage, including wayfinding and regulatory signs; site furnishings, including drinking fountains and fencing; site civil grading, drainage, soil erosion and sediment control, and utility improvements, and striping/pavement markings; and new planting, soils, and irrigation improvements. The scope of work will also include protection and preservation, and removal, of existing trees and vegetation; and site demolition of existing hardscape and utility elements associated with site preparation for proposed improvements.
