Any questions or comments regarding this contract for construction should be addressed to Bartlett & West. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. The work involves construction of the following list. While means and methods of work are the sole responsibility of the Contractor, the list below is recommended for the sequencial installation of improvements, while continuing to meet the City's current effluent limits. 1. Coordination with Ameren for relocation of chlorination building electric service. 2. Regrading berms to correct erosion. 3. Temporary bypass pumping and any necessary temporary treatment. 4. Sludge removal of lagoon cells 1, 2 and 3 - see bid form for base bid and additive alternates. Sludge removal shall be completed one cell at a time for the continued treatment to meet the City's current effluent limits. 5. Installation of blowers and all Ares units and associated air piping for aeration of lagoon cells. 6. Installation of new discharge piping from lagoon cell 2, airlift, Triplepoint Nitrox tanks, Nitrox/airlift blowers, clarifier, UV, mag meter, and yard piping. Installation of force main for WAS line from clarifier. 7. Remaining site grading and gravel paving. 1.04 WORK SEQUENCE A. The outlined sequence of construction does not include all items necessary to complete the work, but is intended to identify the sequence of critical events necessary to minimize disruption and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. It shall be understood by the Contractor that critical events identified are not all inclusive and that additional items of work not shown may be required. The sequence of construction is a precedence requirement and does not attempt to schedule the Contractor's work. It is intended only to indicate which activities must precede other activities in order to minimize interference and disruptions. B. The work sequence shall be determined by the Contractor and within ten (10) days after the "Notice to Proceed" is issued shall: 1. Submitted in writing to the Engineer for approval by the Engineer. A detailed construction schedule shall generally follow the work sequence outlined in this specification and shall take into account lead times for equipment deliveries. 2. The following suggested sequence of construction describes simplistically, the major events required to complete the work in the preferred order of completion. The order of events is designed to minimize disruption to the ongoing operation of the existing treatment factility. a. Submittals b. Work sequence as indicated section 1.3.A above is the general work sequence. The submitted construction schedule by the Contractor shall include a more detailed list of construction sequencing based on means and methods, sub-contractors scheduling, lead times on equipment deliveries, and meeting existing design flows and effluent limits. The submitted work sequence should also include bypass pumping schedules. No interpretation of the meaning to the plans, specifications, or other pre-bid documents will be made to any bidder orally. Every request for such interpretation should be in writing addressed to Bartlett & West, Inc. at 601 Monroe Street, Suite 201, Jefferson City, MO 65101 , Question Deadline 07/24/2025 *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
