You are invited to bid on the above project which will consist of one (4) prime contracts as follows: General Construction Plumbing Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Electrical In general, the scope of work includes the construction of a new second story addition, approximately 4,000 square feet to the existing library building. Exterior construction will include brick veneer, concrete unit masonry and steel stud construction at the exterior wall. The work includes new roofing over the new second story addition as well as re-roofing of the existing low slope roof with membrane roofing. New interior finishes and lighting; new gender-neutral toilet room; modifications and extension of existing HVAC system to accommodate new work are included. The scope of work includes new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to accommodate the second story addition. Each bid must be secured by a certified check or a bank draft or a properly executed bid bond in an amount equal to at least 5% of the entire bid and made payable to the "Dunham Public Library & Dunham Public Library Addition Phase III". The DUNHAM PUBLIC LIBRARY reserves the right to waive any informalities in or to reject any or all bids. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the bid opening thereof. If upon acceptance of his bid, a bidder fails to enter into a contract with the Dunham Public Library for Dunham Public Library Addition - Phase III, the bid security shall be forfeited to and become the property of the Owner. Bidders are not to include in their bid proposal sales and compensating use taxes of the State of New York, and of counties, or cities, on all materials, equipment, and supplies incorporated in this project. This is a capital improvement project; sales tax is not to be applied to labor or materials.
