Renovation of a theater / auditorium in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a theater / auditorium.

As of August 20, 2025, the project has been awarded to Twisted Computing, Inc. but awarded amount is not available. The scope includes replacing dimming and lighting systems, installing LED fixtures and audio/visual infrastructure, and modernizing digital control interfaces. The Highlands School District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to accept the bid deemed most favorable to the district. Project Overview The Highlands High School Auditorium Lighting and Audio Upgrade Project is designed to modernize the facility's aging infrastructure to provide a more reliable, energy-efficient, and userfriendly environment for performances, assemblies, and events. This multi-year effort will replace outdated and failing components with advanced, state-of-the-art systems to significantly improve the auditorium's overall functionality and performance. Currently, the auditorium's lighting is controlled by an aging dimming rack and an Architectural Control Processor (ACP), both of which are prone to failure. The existing dimming rack, which was originally purchased second-hand, controls 96 channels and has multiple failing circuits that cause lights to flicker or not operate at all. Similarly, the ACP, which manages the auditorium's wall stations and control panels, is malfunctioning, resulting in unreliable lighting control. In addition to equipment failures, the limited number of electrical circuits requires excessive use of extension cords, creating safety concerns. The lighting and audio systems also rely on outdated analog control lines, which are increasingly problematic due to poor grounding, signal interference, and age-related degradation. The auditorium's audio system faces similar challenges. It currently depends on a collection of aging analog EQs, delay units, and crossover processors, along with deteriorating analog wiring. These deficiencies lead to reduced audio quality and reliability, and many channels have become unusable due to wiring failures. To address these issues, the project includes the phased replacement of key lighting and audio components over three years: 2. Auditorium Issues o Lighting o Failing Dimming Rack o The dimming rack has 96 20amp dimming channels controlling all lighting in the auditorium. This piece of equipment was purchased second hand and multiple channels are failing causing the lighting to unexpectedly flicker or not turn on. o Failing Architectural Control Processor o The ACP controls all lighting in the auditorium with dimming stations and push button stations. This piece of equipment is failing, causing intermittent control or no control of the lighting systems. o Insufficient Number of Circuits o An insufficient number of circuits is causing the unsafe use of extension cords. o Analog Control Lines o All communications for lighting and audio equipment are currently over analog control cables. These cables span throughout the auditorium and are experiencing issues due to bad grounding, crosstalk, and other age/use issues. o Audio o Audio Processing o The audio processing equipment in the auditorium consists of EQs, delay, and crossover units. These units are experiencing issues with degraded audio quality and reliability issues. o Analog Wiring o The analog wiring for audio channels and microphones spans throughout the auditorium. This wiring is experiencing issues with many channels unable to be used due to wire failure issues. 3.
