Freestanding Framed Shade Structures for Various Parks It is the intent of Charlotte County to secure the services of a professional, licensed Contractor to provide services to design, remove existing and install new shade structures on various parks owned or maintained by the County, due to Hurricane Ian. Estimated Budget is $1,530,800. The scope of work shall include but not be limited to secure the services of a licensed Contractor to repair or replace existing freestanding framed shades over picnic areas and playground areas. This will include removal and disposal of existing when applicable. The successful bidder shall guarantee firm prices for the fabrication, shop time, materials, and installation of freestanding shade structures in accordance with the Technical Specification (TS) Section included with this proposal. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, fuel and other incidental costs and supervision necessary to: 1. Perform a visual inspection of each structure, including weldments, fasteners and other components to ensure the structure is free of cracks, rust or misalignment. Notify the contract representative of any defects prior to proceeding. a. At a minimum, the Contractor shall replace the shade, upper frame assembly, and horizontal beams. b. Fasteners connecting all new components shall be removed and replaced with new fasteners in accordance with the approved shop drawings. 2. Provide design for replacement of existing damaged freestanding framed shades. Submit shop drawings for Charlotte County approval prior to fabrication. 3. Provide demolition, removal and disposal of existing damaged freestanding framed shade. 4. Furnish, deliver, and install new freestanding framed shades in accordance with approved shop drawings. 5. It is assumed the existing concrete foundation is not damaged and is adequately sized for the new freestanding framed shade. The Contractor shall notify the Contractor's representative immediately if a concrete foundation requires repair. Refer to section TS-07 for concrete specifications.
