Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Colonial Heights, Virginia. Working plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
**As of October 8th, 2025, bids were rejected. No definite date for the rebid.** The project entails the design of traffic signal and pedestrian improvements at the intersection of Route 1 (Boulevard) and Temple Avenue including the following improvement.: Replace existing traffic signal with mast arm signals Crosswalks with ADA ramps Sidewalk and drainage improvements Question Deadline 07/25/2025 at 5:00 PM ET Any questions on this project, should be emailed to Larry Melvin, Purchasing Agent, MelvinL@colonialheightsva.gov There will be a 10% DBE Goal for this Project. Once the notice to proceed has been given by the City, all work associated with this project shall be completed no later than 580 calendar days. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or a bid bond equal to 5% of the bid amount. If awarded the contract, the contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a labor and material payment bond in the amount of 100% the total contract amount. (2 separate bonds). The contractor shall hire an independent material testing agency, acceptable to the City, to perform quality control inspection services as required by the current edition of the VDOT LAP Manual.
