Renovation of a recreation facility in Palmdale, California. Working plans call for the renovation of a recreation facility.
“The owner has selected a Design Builder. The design-build scope includes civil and architectural/building site improvements, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) work, integration with existing systems, and facility modifications to meet current code. Special attention will be given to leveraging the existing pump house and utilities infrastructure where feasible. Key components include: o Slide foundations o Filtration, pump, and piping systems o Lighting, drainage, landscape, and walkways o Coordination with WWI for site readiness and integration o Permitting with agencies including City of Palmdale Building & Safety, Los Angeles County Fire Department, Los Angeles County Public Health, Cal/OSHA-DOSH - Amusement Ride Unit, Antelope Valley Air Quality Management District, and utilities (Palmdale Water District, Southern California Edison, etc.) Construction will occur in two main phases to meet WW's schedule and requirements: o Phase 1 - Site Readiness: Foundations, slabs, and embedded and relocated utilities required for WWI's slide installation. o Phase 2 - Remaining Construction: Final buildout of site improvements to deliver a complete, operable attraction. The selected design-build entity will be responsible for complete project delivery, including all permitting, coordination, procurement, materials and equipment, labor, supervision, installation, general conditions, inspections (excluding special inspections by third-party contractor), testing, verification, and commissioning--culminating in the ride opening for the 2026 season. In addition, proposals shall include all costs for any/all fees, including all applicable design, regulatory compliance applications and permits. The Design-Build Entity (D-B E) will be responsible for identifying all existing infrastructure within the project limits, coordinating with City staff to pothole and resolve any utility conflicts, and making any necessary adjustments to the design. All underground infrastructure within the construction footprint shall be located and confirmed prior to excavation. The D-B E shall coordinate with the City for any necessary utility shutdowns or service interruptions, ensuring alignment with DryTown's operational calendar and other park events. Liquidated Damages 1,000-5000 Start/Delivery Date 9/22/2025 Project Duration 135 Working Days. Bid Bond 10.00% Payment Bond 100.00% Performance Bond 100.00% A goal of30% ofthe total work hours performed on the Project shall be from qualified workers described m (a) above. In addition, a goal of 10% ofthe total work hours shall be from transitional workers residing within the greater Antelope Valley area, as reflected on the attached list of zip codes.
