Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Gurnee, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Subcontracting portions of the work will be allowed pursuant to Section 108.01 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Illinois Department of Transportation, latest edition. The Owner reserves the right to reject any bidder or subcontractor who, in the opinion of the Owner or the Engineer, does not have adequate experience, personnel or equipment to perform the work in a timely, efficient and satisfactory manner. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids or any part thereof and waive any informality or any irregularities or defects in any or all proposals and to accept that bid which in its opinion is in the best interest of the Owner. Any such decision shall be considered final. It is the intent of the Owner to award a contract to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder. The work is located at Plaine Community Park (4399 Russel Avenue), south of the intersection of Washington St and Plaine Rd in Gurnee, IL. Work to include but not be limited to pavement removal, aggregate base grading, asphalt binder and surface courses, asphalt patching and striping, concrete sidewalk, stormwater utility installation, site restoration and all appurtenant construction necessary to complete the project. Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond for ten percent (10%) of the total bid made payable to the Gurnee Park District shall accompany the bid. Personal checks will not be accepted. The work shall be prosecuted in such a manner and with such a supply of materials, equipment and labor as is considered necessary to ensure its completion according to the time specified in the Contract. The Contractor shall not start work earlier than Monday, August 18, 2025 and be completed on or before Friday, October 18, 2025, as described in Article 108.05 of the Standard Specifications. In case of failure to complete the work on time, the provisions of Article 108.09 of the Standard Specifications apply.
