Other leaks in the attic space, as well as other soffit areas have been verified. Catastrophic failure in other areas could cause building damage and injury to personnel on walkways below. Further inspection of the damage area has revealed water rot, termite damage and rusting of the substructure. Loose roofing tiles, possibly the result of improper original installation has been noted in other parts of the roof, rendering the entire roof suspect. A pending lightning protection project is currently on hold. Installing lightning protection equipment on a compromised roof structure could cause damage to the equipment and/or roofing and jeopardize workers.
