The City of Pearsall is seeking bids for the priming and paving of Street Improvement Project identified above as: East Medina Street. The work consists of paving approximately 1050 ft x 30 ft (31,500 sq ft) to existing re-constructed roadway with 2" type D asphalt (Hot Mix). The roadway is within the incorporated portions of the City of Pearsall between South Chestnut and South Pine Street which includes two intersections (see attached Exhibit "A" for location) The contractor is welcome to visit the location from June 30, 2025 - July 3, 2025. Public Works will be available between 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM to discuss any questions, or to walk the site with interested contractors. The winning bidder must supply all paving equipment, labor, materials, prime coat sealant and application equipment needed for job fulfillment. Construction Schedule--It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to provide a project schedule for City staff prior to construction. The schedule should outline the anticipated start and end dates for each phase of the East Medina Street Project. Traffic Control--Proper traffic control is the sole responsibility of the contractor and shall be in accordance with the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Care should be used to create a safe work area, with minimal impact on the flow of traffic. Access to properties adjacent to the work zone shall be always maintained unless otherwise directed by City staff. A minimum of two travel lanes (one for each direction) shall always remain open on all arterial streets. If the work area is open to traffic, it will be the contractor's responsibility to provide and place temporary flexible-reflective road marker tabs designating lane lines. For the entire East Medina Street Project, the maximum length under construction at any time shall not exceed one mile, or the distance between two arterials. A traffic control plan for the East Medina Street Project shall be submitted to the City of Pearsall's Streets Supervisor no less than 48 hours prior to the beginning of construction. Construction cannot begin without a traffic control plan approved by the city. Tack Coat-Uniformly spray tack coat using materials and methods outlined in this solicitation. Uniformly apply tack coat to all longitudinal and transverse joints. Correct uncoated or lightly coated areas, Blot areas show an excess of tack coat with sand or other similar material and remove blotting material before paving. Paving with Hot Mix Asphalt - Install a 2-inch Type D hot mix asphalt at selected roadways. Each bid shall constitute an offer to the City of PEARSALL, as outlined therein, and shall be irrevocable for at least thirty (30) days after the time announced for the opening thereof.
