The Town of Cumberland is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) soliciting proposals for connection of the property located at 440 High Street, Cumberland to the sewer system. The Town is seeking a contractor with experience in installing laterals from a public sewer main to an individual property. The proposed sewer lateral will be from Dexter Street as there is no sewer main passing #440 on High Street. SCOPE OF WORK The Town of Cumberland is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) soliciting proposals for connection of the property located at 440 High Street, Cumberland to the sewer system . The Town is seeking a contractor with experience in installing laterals from a public sewer main to an individual property. The work will involve: A. Obtaining a utility permit from the Sate Department of Transportation, Division of Highway and Bridge Maintenance. B. Scheduling and providing a police detail. C. Provide and put in place warning/safety signage. D. Sawcut Roadway and Sidewalk, E. Remove and dispose of unwanted materials. F. Excavate to sewer main depth of 6 feet +/-. G. Cut sewer main to enable wye fernco saddle to be installed. H. Install 6 inch SDR35 sewer pipe from main to property line of 436 High Street and cap /mark end of new lateral. I. Backfill with suitable material, compact in one foot lifts and install three inch asphalt binder and three inch asphalt topcoat..
