The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) is requesting professional design and construction administration services to produce a construction bid package for the restoration of the Remick Bandshell and surrounding site areas on Belle Isle. Several documents containing an in-depth description of the project are appended: Remick Bandshell Drawings (QEA) Remick Assessment Report (QEA) Remick Closeout Report (WEC) Overall site planning shall consider the surrounding area which includes the Oudolf Gardens, Flynn Pavilion, Carillon Tower, Lake Tacoma access, and Loiter Way. Potential services shall include restrooms, parking, food truck accommodation, shuttle service, etc. PSC to provide secure soil borings and topographic survey of the site to complete the design work. Site features to be potentially incorporated into the immediate area surrounding the bandshell could include parking areas (service and visitor), loading areas (pedestrian and equipment), sidewalks, ramps, seating (fixed and lawn), trees and plantings, lighting, etc. Bandshell features to be potentially incorporated could include structural improvements (structural assessment has been deemed necessary), acoustic improvements, audio-visual improvements (speakers, screens, boards, towers, etc.), interior architectural revisions / improvements, exterior finishes restoration.
