Replacement of automatic entrance doors at LAX terminals and the Van Nuys Flyaway - Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) is soliciting bids for a 3-year contract aimed at ensuring the procurement and replacement of automatic entrance doors as necessary to maintain optimal functionality and safety. This contract with a qualified vendor will address any operational issues that may arise. BID WORKSHEET #:BT-59GX The Contractor is responsible for obtaining all necessary plans, permits and inspections that are required by all regulatory agencies for this project. The contractor must supply all supervision, labor, and materials necessary to remove and dispose of the existing automatic, standard doors and sidings, and install new automatic door assemblies as specified below. o The following types of doors must include but not limited to heavy-duty aluminum frame type automatic doors, bi-parting, single sliding, telescoping, bi-folding, revolving, manual opening, and automatic swing type. o Related work and materials must include side-lites, framing, operators, actuation systems, safety beams, wiring, sealant, and other related accessories and work. o Any parts, components, or sub-assemblies not specifically mentioned herein but necessary for a complete unit, ready for immediate usage, must be included. o All equipment and parts supplied must be new and unused. o The electric operating mechanism for bi-parting horizontal automatic door package must be belt driven by DC electric motor and mechanical gear assembly. Hydraulic, pneumatic, chain type drive, linear drive entrances will not be accepted. o The sliding automatic entrance doors must be Besam SL 500 or equal. A manufacturer substituted as an equivalent must meet or exceed LAWA's Specified Materials or Equivalent. o Whenever a material or process is specified by a patent, trade name, or manufacturer, it must meet the quality standard and be considered as "or equal." The bidder may offer any material or process equivalent of that specified. (However, due to the exceptionally large inventory of automatic door openers at LAX, and the enormously demanding and at times harsh use by the traveling public, standardization of essential equipment and/or materials is required to maintain an acceptable level of service.)
