Brief Scope: Louisville Water Company is requesting Bids for the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment and incidentals and performing all work required to construct complete in place and ready to operate the B.E. Payne WTP Plan Lime System Improvements Project. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Demolition and legal off-site disposal of two (2) existing lime makeup systems, each consisting of the following: a. Lime slaker tank/feeder. b. Main control panel. c. Air dryer. d. Air compressor. e. Lime slurry aging tank. f. Lime slurry recirculation pump. 2. Demolition and legal off-site disposal of slaker system control panels for lime softening basins. 3. Demolition and legal off-site disposal of existing lime dosing assemblies at lime softening basins. 4. Demolition and legal off-site disposal of piping, valves, wire, conduit and appurtenances related to the existing lime makeup systems. 5. Demolition and legal off-site disposal of existing soda ash equipment. 6. Installation of two (2) new lime makeup systems, each consisting of the following: a. Installation of two (2) fine grit classifiers with common grit conveyor and new dosing assemblies at the lime softening basins. 8. Construction of new concrete pad for support of the existing grit dumpster. 9. Performance test all new equipment, instrumentation and controls and other systems as specified herein. 10. Installation of new lime slurry feed piping from the Lime Softening Chemical Building to the lime softening basins. 11. Perform all concrete masonry, structural, electrical and metal work as required to complete the Work. 12. Perform all relocations of any existing yard piping and underground utilities as required to accommodate the new work as shown on Drawings and specified herein. 13. Perform all sitework as required to complete the project. 14. Provide project site security for the duration of the project. Security is the sole responsibility of Contractor. 15. Perform any demolition work necessary to execute the project, not mentioned above. B. Type of Contract: 1. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. *The value for this project is based on a financial range of $5,000,001 - $10,000,000. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
