The City of Prairie View, Texas, is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified independent contractors to provide asphalt paving and street repair services for multiple roadway segments within the city limits. The selected contractor will be responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, and coordination necessary to perform site preparation, base work, asphalt installation, drainage improvements, and quality assurance for the streets listed in the project scope. The City reserves the right to award to multiple contractors, reject any or all proposals, and waive technicalities in the best interest of the City. Site Preparation and Base Work o Utility Coordination: Contact Texas One Call prior to excavation o Clear and grub the area by removing vegetation, debris, and organic materials. o Clean out bar Ditches to match existing Driveway Culvert o Excavate and grade to achieve the designed elevation and ensure proper drainage o Prep cut and roll all roads before gravel application o Compact subgrade to required density; identify and fix any soft spots. o Install flexible base material to 6" depth. o Moisture condition and compact base for optimal strength and stability. o Verify grade and slope for compliance before asphalt installation. 2. Asphalt Paving and Street Repair o Furnish and install new hot mix asphalt concrete pavement to city specifications of 3" thick by 20 LF wide o Compact 6" and finish asphalt to ensure a smooth, durable driving surface. o Special Repairs or Patch Area will require a minimum dig out saw cut at 4 in depth and replace with 4 in type D hot mix o Coordinate all work to minimize disruptions to residents and local traffic. 3. Drainage Improvements o Evaluate existing site conditions and make necessary grading adjustments to promote effective surface drainage. 4.
