Site work for a road / highway in Fargo, North Dakota. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

This project calls for the repair of miscellaneous street lighting and traffic signal items at various locations within the City of Fargo The City of Fargo is currently soliciting proposals from painting contractors to repaint existing street light poles on Broadway, 13th Avenue S, and 12th Avenue N, and to sandblast and re-paint 19 traffic signal poles on Broadway. Plan sheets of each location are attached for your use. Selection of contractor will solely be based on cost. Any questions or comments regarding this solicitation should be submitted to Jeremy Gorden or Leroy Grant at jgorden@fargond.gov or lgrant@fargond.gov. We want to paint each street light pole up to the bottom of the first sign that is attached to it (approximately 6' high) or if no sign is attached, up to a height of 8' from the ground. When working on each light, the parking spot nearest the street light pole should be blocked off by orange traffic cones. This cost will be incidental to the overall cost of the project. There is no parking allowed overnight on Broadway on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 2am -7am. This should assist with blocking the parking lanes off prior to working on the poles. We have three (3) locations of street light poles that we want painted; Location 1 - Broadway from 1st Avenue S to 9th Avenue N. It does include 8 poles on 2nd Ave N between Broadway and 5th Street N. 129 poles total. Location 2 - 12th Avenue N from 18th Street to University Drive. 48 poles. Location 3 - 13th Avenue S from 13.5 Street to 10th Street. 26 of poles. There will be no sandblasting of any street light poles. STREET LIGHT PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS: Completely remove all dirt, rust and loose paint. Sand all painted areas with 40 to 100-grit paper, depending on conditions. Wash down with "no rinse pre-paint cleaner" manufactured by Great Lakes Laboratories. Prime bare metal with Macropoxy 646 Primer manufactured by Sherwin Williams coatings. Apply a top coat with Acrolon 218 HS Acrylic Polyurethane, manufactured by Sherwin Williams. Color will be Black. There are also 'City of Fargo' emblems that will need a top coat layer that is gold in color. They are approximately 5" in diameter near the bottom of the pole. There are handhole covers on each pole near the bottom of the pole. Please leave them in place and paint them. In the event that a handhole cover is loose, contact Kevin Morlan prior to priming/painting so that it can be secured prior to painting. Contractor to be paid per pole. 11. Traffic Signal Painting We want to sandblast and paint each traffic signal base and pole 5' from the ground. When working on each traffic signal pole, the work area should be secured by a number of orange traffic cones. This cost will be incidental to the overall cost of the project. TRAFFIC SIGNAL PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS: Completely remove all rust and paint by White Metal Blasting the signal standard. White Metal Blast cleaning is used when a totally cleaned surface is required. This method of cleaning is defined as a sandblasted cleaned surface with a gray-white uniform metallic color. It will be free of all oil, grease, dirt, mill scale, rust, corrosion products, oxides, paint, stains, streaks or any other contaminant across 100% of every square inch. Sandblasting material will be a steel grit angular carbon steel blast media. Sandblasting will be done on site with the signal standards in place and operational. All pedestrians and the traveling public will be protected from all debris. All sandblasting material and removed pole paint/debris will be collected in a method that is approved by the EPA. Before the primer is applied, the pole must be inspected by the City of Fargo to ensure that it is free of all paint, rust and contaminates. Pole must be prepped according to Specifications and to the satisfaction of the Engineer in the field. Pole may need to be re-blasted or may need to be cleaned with "no rinse pre-paint cleaner" manufactured by Great Lakes Laboratories. The Engineer in the field will require which method will be used. Mask all areas that are not required to be painted, any overspray will be removed. The anchor bolts that protrude out the top of the base should be masked and not painted. Prime bare metal with Corothane I Galvapac 1k Zinc Primer, manufactured by Sherwin Williams. Apply an intermediate coat with Macropoxy 646, manufactured by Sherwin Williams. Apply a top coat with Acrolon 218 HS Acrylic Polyurethane, manufactured by Sherwin Williams. Apply a finish coat with Fluorokem HS 100, manufactured by Sherwin Williams. Color will be Black. Thickness of all coats applied will be according to the manufacturer's recommended film thickness. Application of all materials will follow the manufacturer's directions for use. After sandblasting has been finished and approved, clean out all sandblasting materials that are left in the transformer base and clean up any splice connections inside the base. Contractor to be paid per pole.
