Site work and paving for a road / highway in Denmark, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Description: Generally, include the following: Earthwork, +/- 680-LF of 12-inch Graded Aggregate Base Course (GABC) roadway, 18-inch class III reinforced concrete pipe (RCP), 48-inch class V RCP, and Double 48-inch wingwalls. A. Information provided will be used by the Engineer or Owner to determine the competency and ability of the Contractor and/or Subcontractor to perform the scheduled work in a manner that is satisfactory to the Engineer or Owner. The Engineer or Owner's decision shall be final. B. Any Subcontractor being used by the General Contractor, whose portion of the project exceeds 5% of the total bid price amount, will be required to provide the same information as the General Contractor. C. The Contractor and Subcontractor shall include with this section a detailed financial statement indicating the Contractor's or Subcontractor's financial resources. The information on that statement shall be certified by a Certified Public Accountant and shall be submitted on the Associated General Contractor's of America form "Standard Questionnaires and Financial Statement for Bidders". D. The Contractor and Subcontractor shall certify by attaching his signature to this Section as provided that all information contained herein is complete and all statements and answers are accurate and true. Providing misinformation, incomplete information, inaccurate information, or failure to certify the information, will subject bidder to disqualification. A. Throughout these Contract Documents and Construction Plans, references are made to specifications and standards that have been issued by nationally recognized professional and/or trade organizations. These referenced standards are generally identified by abbreviating the name of the organization following with the specification/standard number, and unless specifically indicated otherwise, all references to standards refer to the latest edition available at the time of the bidding. A. Work included: Construction Schedules are to be prepared to provide assurance of project planning and the execution of the work so that the construction is completed within the construction period as stated in the Contract Documents, and to provide Alliance Consulting Engineers, Inc. a means to evaluate the progress of the work. B. Related work: 1. Documents affecting work of this Section include, but are not necessarily limited to, General Conditions, and Sections in Division 01 of these Specifications. 2. General Conditions and the requirements associated with the progress schedule. 3. Construction period: As related to the executed contract. A. Work included: This section outlines the requirements of the Contractor for the payment for any fees and the acquisition of any required licenses, building permits, rights-of-ways, easements, etc., that may be required for the construction of the project. B. Work not included: The Owner will obtain and provide to the Contractor, copies of the following: 2. Encroachment permits, County or Local Government. 3. Easements obtained and or required to cross private property. 4. Corps of Engineer permits, navigable waters, etc. 6. South Carolina Department Environmental Services (SCDES), Land Disturbance. C. Related work: Documents affecting work of this section include, but are not necessarily limited to, Standard General Conditions and Sections in Division 1 of these specifications. Project information was provided in a January 10, 2025, e-mail from Gabriel Schwend, P.E. of Alliance Consulting Engineers (ACE) to Madison Devine of FME. The e-mail included a drawing titled "Roadway Improvements +/-650-LF of Church Street" that showed the proposed areas of improvements. The project will be roadway improvements and drainage improvements which include replacing an existing crossline culvert where Church Street crosses Lemon Creek located in Bamberg County, South Carolina between highway 321 and highway 301. The project also includes adding a graded aggregate base riding surface.
