Renovation of a municipal facility in Stanhope, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Existing DPW meeting room, locker room, and bathroom building is to be gutted and renovated within the same existing footprint. New layout configuration is to be as per the Bid Set of drawings. This includes, but is not limited to, new walls, new doors and windows, new rough plumbing and plumbing fixtures, new rough electrical and electrical fixtures and devices, new kitchenette, new dropped ceiling and lighting, new lockers and furniture, new guards at the existing exterior ramp and stairs, and other items shown on the Bid Set. Each bid must be made upon the prescribed forms, furnished with the Contract Drawings and Specifications, accompanied by a Proposal Guarantee in the form of a Bid Bond from a Surety/Bonding Company licensed and qualified to do business in the State of NJ, a Certified Check, or Cashier's Check in the amount of ten (10%) of the total amount bid, but not to exceed $20,000.00 to insure signing of the contract. Bidder shall submit with the bid a Certificate of Surety from a Surety Company licensed and qualified to do business in the State of New Jersey, pursuant to Federal and/or State law as a Surety, stating that it will provide the contractor with a Performance Bond of the total bid price. The Successful Contractor will be required to submit a Payment Bond and Maintenance Bond (refer to Instruction to Bidders). Byram Township is only responsible for forwarding addendums or clarifications to those prospective bidders who obtained specifications directly from the Township, Department of the Township Clerk or to those who have put the Township on notice as having received the specification. Bidders are required to comply with the requirement of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27, et seq. (Affirmative Ac-tion). The successful bidder will be required to comply with all the provisions of prevailing wage rates as determined by the New Jersey Department of Labor. All bids shall be irrevocable, not subject to withdrawal and shall stand available for a period of sixty (60) days. ** bid date info : bearing the name and address of the bidder written on the face of the envelope and clearly marked BID with the contract title. A. The extent of the building demolition work is shown on the drawings and as specified in this section. B. Demolition requires removal and disposal, off site, of, but not limited to, the following: 1. Building structures and elements as indicated on the drawings, including existing equipment, building appurtenances, and finishes as noted. A. The extent of rough carpentry work is shown on drawings and as specified herein. Materials and installation requirements for other work, commonly assigned to carpentry trade, are specified in other sections of these specifications. B. Work of this section includes, but is not limited to the following: 1. Wood furring. 2. Wood grounds, nailers, blocking and sleepers. 3. Rough hardware, anchor bolts, nails, anchors and accessories. A. Extent of insulation work is shown on drawings and indicated by provisions of this section. B. Applications of insulation specified in this section include the following: 1. Blanket-type building insulation A. The locations where joint sealers are required indicated on drawings, and in the specifications. Provisions of this section indicate the type of joint sealer required for each application. A. The extent of custom hollow metal work is shown on the drawings and in schedules. B. This Section includes custom pressed steel frames for doors and related openings. C. Related Work Specified Elsewhere: 1. Steel doors: Section 08220 2. Hardware: Section 08710 A. Definition: "Finish Hardware" includes items known commercially as finish hardware which are required for swing, sliding and folding doors, except special types of unique and non-matching hardware specified in the same section as the door and door frame. B. Extent of finish hardware required is indicated on drawings and in schedules. C. Types of finish hardware required include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Hinges 2. Lock cylinders and keys 3. Lock and latch sets 4. Flush bolts 5. Overhead closers 6. Miscellaneous door control devices and silencers 7. Protection plates 8. Weatherstripping for exterior doors 9. Thresholds D. Refer to Hardware Schedule on the drawings for specific locations and requirements. A. Extent of each type of gypsum drywall (GWB) construction required is indicated on the drawings. B. This Section includes the following types of gypsum board construction: 1. Gypsum wall board including screw-type metal support system for interior partitions and ceilings. 2. Gypsum backing boards for application of other finishes. 3. Drywall finishing (joint tape-and-compound treatment). C. Related Work Specified Elsewhere: 1. Door frames: Section 08100. A. Extent of painting work is shown on drawings and as herein specified. B. The work includes painting and finishing of interior and exterior exposed items and surfaces throughout project that are affected by the work of these projects, except as otherwise indicated. C. Surface preparation, priming and coats of paint specified are in addition to shoppriming and surface treatment specified under other sections of work. D. Painting as defined herein shall include, but is not limited to the following: 1. Interior and exterior doors and frames. 2. Metal Fabrications, interior and exterior, except where galvanized. 3. Exterior areas as applicable. 4. Walls, ceilings, and other interior surfaces. 5. Other miscellaneous items as scheduled and specified. 6. Conduits and other mechanical/electrical work where such occur on interior surfaces that are exposed. E. "Paint" as used herein means all coating systems materials, including primers, emulsions, enamels, stains, sealers and fillers, and other applied materials whether used as prime, intermediate or finish coats. F. Paint exposed surfaces of unfinished and primed surfaces exposed throughout the interior except where specifically noted as a surface not to be painted. Where items or surfaces are not specifically mentioned, paint same as adjacent similar materials or areas. A. The work to be performed under this contract consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, supplies, labor and transportation, including fuel, power, water and performing all work as required in the Statement of Work in the contract, in strict accordance with the specifications, schedules and drawings, all of which are made a part hereof, and including such detail drawings as may be furnished by the ARCHITECT from time to time during the prosecution of the work in explanation of said drawings. All provisions of construction notes govern work under this division. Contractor shall provide all items, articles, materials, labor, etc. and perform all operations all operations necessary for a complete and operational electrical installation. All equipment and materials shall be new unless otherwise specified WORK INCLUDED: A. Electrical Service Equipment. Electrical Distribution Systems. Lighting Systems. Emergency and Exit Lighting Systems.
