Each bid shall be accompanied, by a certified check drawn on a bank which is insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance corporation or a bidder's bond executed by a surety company authorized to do business in Colorado, made payable to the City of Greeley, Colorado, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal sum as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract to construct this project in accordance with the plans and specifications, and give bonds in the sum as hereafter provided.
