Renovation of a residential development in Marquette, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
The County of Marquette, acting in its capacity as the CDBG Grant Administrator, is seeking a Michigan Licensed Contractor and a certified Lead Abatement firm with at least one Lead Abatement Supervisor for the rehabilitation of a single family residential home located at 100 Candee Ln, Marquette, MI 49855. Project specifications consist of*: Home and Garage Roof (Low Slope) Replacement Remove all shingles, underlayment, and roofing accessories from entire house structure down to the roof deck. Inspect remaining roof deck for deterioration and or damage. Replace roof deck as necessary. Provide a sq ft unit cost for deck repair/replacement. Install ice and water shield, which shall extend from the lowest edges of all roof surfaces to a point not less than 24-inches inside the exterior wall line of the building. Install 30-lb felt over remaining roof deck. Install all new drip edge on all edges. When possible, a continuous ridge vent will be installed over 30-lb felt with new drip edge on all edges. Install all new accessories and flashings to ensure a water shed installation. Install fiberglass, asphalt, 3-tab or architectural, class A shingles with a prorated 25/30-year warranty. Standard color and style to be selected by owner. All work shall be in accordance with the applicable provisions of the 2015 Michigan Residential Code and the shingle manufacturers written specifications and details. Provide from the shingle manufacturer a standard roof system warranty upon completion. If there is no soffit venting, then 1 sq ft of free venting must be supplied for every sq ft of area directly under the roof. If 20% of the venting is soffit vent and if the living space ceiling is directly below the roof, then 1 sq ft of free venting must be supplied for every 300 sq ft of area directly under the roof. Strong preference for a combination of ridge and soffit vents. If necessary, install new soffit and fascia. July 28, 2025 Work Start Date September 30, 2025 Work End Date The CDBG Housing Improving Local Livability (CHILL) Program Homeowner Improvement Project (HIP) is grant funding from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA). CHILL HIP follows the Federal rules that govern the use of CDBG awards to meet a United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) National Objective, MSHDA's policies regulating the application process, and the on-going operation of its CDBG-funded programs LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Currently licensed by the State of Michigan as a Residential Contractor. Currently a certified Lead Abatement firm. Currently a certified Lead Abatement Supervisor. Not on the Federally Debarred or Suspended list, or been issued a Limited Denial of Participation. Registered on SAM.gov. Must follow all regulations set forth in the MSHDA CDBG Policy Manual.
