Renovation of a pre-engineered storage facility in Westminster, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a pre-engineered storage facility.
Question Deadline 07/21/2025 All questions concerning this IFB and requests for interpretation of these documents shall be submitted in writing to the Procurement Officer no less than five (5) business days before the due date for submissions. Replace asphalt shingle roofing on salt storage building (a) The work to be done under this item shall consist of all the operations and furnishing all the materials, labor and equipment necessary for asphalt shingle roofing replacement per scope of work/specifications. The Contractor shall demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Town that the equipment, crew and construction methods to be used are capable of completing the work in accordance with these specifications. Scope of Work/Specifications 1. All work shall be in conformance with the Tenth edition of the Massachusetts Building Code 780 2. Remove/tear-off and properly dispose of existing roofing materials, i.e. asphalt shingles, ice and water membrane, felt underlayment, drip edge, sill flashing, etc. (plywood decking to remain). 3. Inspect plywood decking and notify the Town of any failure(s). 4. Tarps to be used at all striping areas. Tarps to be used inside the building to cover the existing salt pile. 5. Supply and install new 50-Year architectural asphalt roofing shingles on dome roof, garage door dormer and rear fan housing (approximately 40 square). 6. Supply and install new ice and water membrane over entire roof dome roof, garage door dormer roof and rear fan housing roof. 7. Dome cap, fan housing and roof vent louvers shall be retained. 8. Remove and properly dispose of existing 2x12s surrounding front of garage door, asphalt shingles & underlayment from garage door dormer sides and asphalt shingles & underlayment from rear fan housing sides. 9. Supply and install new vinyl building siding (white) on garage door dormer front and sides as well as rear fan housing with underlayment and step flashing. Build out, supply and install, with new (white) PVC trim fascia and vented soffit. 10. Supply and install new aluminum drip edge (white). 11. Build out, supply and install, with new (white) PVC trim to replace 2x12's 12. A site visit is required prior to submission of the bid. 13. Use magnets to pick up all nails daily outside and inside of building. 14. Clean up all areas affected by work daily. 15. All debris to be contained and removed from site. Dumpster must be set on blocking and may only be placed not to obstruct the travelled way. Any damage to the grounds must be repaired.
