The Ohio History Connection seeks bids for the US Grant ACGP Restoration Project at the Grant Boyhood Historic Sites in Georgetown, OH. Home: 219 E. Grant Ave., Georgetown, Ohio Tannery: 300 E. Grant Ave, Georgetown, Ohio Schoolhouse: 508 S. Water Street, Georgetown, Ohio OHC intends to award the project to one successful Bidder. The Owner intends to award 1 contract to 1 bidder for the project Question Deadline 08/01/2025 at 12:00 PM ET The final date questions are due to the Architect. Direct all questions and comments to the OHC Project Manager and Architect as follows: Ms. Sara Vandenbark svandenbark@ohiohistory.org Ms. Kalpa Baghasingh kbaghasingh@schooleycaldwell.com Questions must be in writing and sent to both emails. A Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond are required as defined in the Contract Documents. Prevailing wage rates for Brown County as determined by the State of Ohio, Department of Commerce, Division of Labor and Safety will be applicable to this Work. No bids may be withdrawn within ninety (90) days after the Bid Opening. The Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all bids. The Date of Commencement shall be no more than 14 days following filing of Notice to Proceed, on September 1, 2025. Substantial Completion shall occur no more than 241 calendar days following Date of Commencement and shall be no later than April 30, 2026. Final Completion shall occur no more than 255 days following Date of Commencement. The anticipated project cost is $1,000,000 1. Base Bid: Boyhood Home a. The project is the restoration of the kitchen in the Grant boyhood home to a historic kitchen. No work to the adjacent docent or restroom areas. Historic furnishings and accessories are for aesthetic appearance only and will not be functional as a kitchen. The existing firebox block will be replaced with historic brick and whitewashed, along with the surround. The existing chimneys are not used. 2. Base Bid: The Schoolhouse a. The project is limited to the structural stabilization of the historic Grant schoolhouse for the continued use as a 19th century school museum. Alterations include the dismantling of the failing north exterior brick wall, to be rebuilt in-kind. Minor repairs to be made to interior b. Finishes impacted by the removal and reconstruction of the wall. c. Exterior masonry is to be cleaned. 3. Base Bid: The Tannery a. The project includes a lean-to addition to the original 1823 Tannery building. b. The Work includes masonry restoration including cleaning, roof restoration, carpentry repairs, new windows, new wood doors and frames and other noted work. 4. Boyhood Home Alternates: a. Alternate #1 - Raise Grant stone onto concrete pad, under added exterior kiosk b. Alternate #2 - Foundations and framework for exterior interpretation kiosk to be located same as existing. 5. Schoolhouse Alternates: a. Alternate #1 - Paint all exterior masonry. b. Alternate #2 - Foundation and framework for exterior interpretation kiosk. 6. Tannery Alternates: a. Alternate #1 - Foundations and framework for exterior interpretation kiosk. b. Alternate #2 - Outfit interior of new addition. c. Alternate #3 - Demolish modern additions of the historic Tannery interior.
