The Project consists of but not limited to: Removal of existing gravel flood coat roofing and replacement with new modified bitumen roofing system with new rigid insulation. Asbestos abatement of miscellaneous roofing tar. Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 44A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.149 26 to 27H inclusive. General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in the following category of work, Roofing, and must submit a current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and signed DCAMM Prime/General Contractor Update Statement. General bids and sub-bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (including all alternates), and made payable to the SALEM HOUSING AUTHORITY. Note: A bid deposit is not required for Projects advertised under $50,000. Question Deadline 07/21/2025 Any prospective bidder desiring an explanation or interpretation of the solicitation, specifications, drawings, etc., must request it at least 7 days before the scheduled time for bid opening. Requests may be oral or written. Oral requests must be confirmed in writing. Removal by a licensed abatement contractor of asbestos containing tar at designated locations. Removal of existing built-up roofing system with gravel flood-coat, metal flashing, and miscellaneous rooftop elements in preparation to receive new roofing system. Installation of new modified bitumen roofing system including new cover board, new rigid insulation, new metal roof edge, flashings and wood blocking. Installation of new architectural metal panels at upper roof wall. Temporary removal and reinstallation of exhaust fans, skylights, roof hatch as necessary to accommodate installation of new roofing and insulation system
