Site work and new construction of a swimming pool in Princeton, West Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a swimming pool; and for site work for a swimming pool.

The project scope includes all work required to deliver a complete and functional aquatic facility, comprising: A support building including a bathhouse with restrooms and changing facilities, ticketing and entrance area, pool water treatment and wave generation mechanical spaces, a concessions area with ancillary support spaces. Associated site work, including but not limited to, grading, site utilities, walks and pool decks, landscaping, fencing and paving. A Dual Beach (sided) Wave Pool with aquatic play features as shown in the project drawings. The project will be bid as a Multi-prime Contract, with two primary contracts: 1. General Contract: Responsible for all other project components, including the support building (bathhouse, concessions, and mechanical spaces), site work (grading, site utilities, site lighting, landscaping, and paving), and all pool-related excavation, trenching, and backfilling, performed in coordination with the Wave Pool Contractor. The general contract will also include the pool concrete apron deck areas, and other work identified in the documents and work matrix. 2. Wave Pool Contract: Responsible for the design and construction of the Dual Beach Wave Pool, including the pool structure and finishes, aquatic play features, pool water treatment system, wave generation system, and other pool equipment required. Bidders must submit separate bids for each contract package. The City will contract directly with the successful General Contractor and Wave Pool Contractor. Due to the proprietary nature of the Dual Beach Wave Pool, detailed design specifications for the pool will be provided for construction by the successful Wave Pool Contractor. Completion anticipated within 12 to 18 months. Printed bid documents can be requested for a non-refundable payment to cover the cost of printing and shipping. The City of Princeton reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities therein. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after the time of opening of the bids. All bidders will be required to certify, indicate and acknowledge that he/she has all appropriate licenses and meets all qualifications required by the laws, regulations, and ordinances of the State of West Virginia and the City of Princeton. Each bidder will be required to furnish a certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Princeton or a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and a grantee Bidder and a Bidder surety company approved by the City of Princeton, West Virginia, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total projected cost of the work, materials and labor, plus proposed fee, which shall be submitted with each Bid to guarantee the Bidder's entrance into a Contract, if given the award. No Bid shall be waived or returned because the Bidder failed to or cannot comply with any requirements as set forth in the Plans, Specifications, or any applicable statutes of the United States, the State of West Virginia and/or local ordinances. Bidders on this work may not discriminate in employment with regards to race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Bidders must comply with the requirements of all applicable state and federal laws. Bidders must also comply with West Virginia Code 21-1D-5 requiring a Drug Free Workplace. Region One Planning and Development Council is administering the project funding with the lender. The project involves the site development of a designated portion of the former Dean Company Property near Stafford Drive in Princeton, WV. The goals and scope of work required for the project includes the development of a dual beach wave pool with an overall water surface area of no less that 6500 sf (Splash Pad included). This area does not include the pool aprons located on each side. The wave pool shall have aprons beyond the zero depth "beach" entries and shall not be less than 2,875 sf. All bids must be submitted in accordance with the Bidding Documents issued by the Architect and the Form of Proposal. All bids must be enclosed in sealed envelope bearing the name ''Princeton Wave Pool and Bathhouse, Bid-1 General Contract" and/or "Princeton Wave Pool and Bathhouse, Bid-2 Wave Pool Contract". Faxed bids will not be accepted. Bids may be mailed or delivered to Mike Webb, City of Princeton, 800 Bee Street, Princeton, WV 24740, if received prior to bid date.
