Project Area The project site is at the Albert J. Horton Jr., Memorial Veterans Cemetery (5310 Milners Road) in the City of Suffolk, Virginia (3649'29" N, 7638'13" W). It is approximately 0.3 miles east of the intersection of Route 604 (Lake Prince Drive) and Route 605 (Murphy Mill Road) (Exhibits 1-3). The project site is comprised of a maintained lawn and woodland. 1.2 Proposed Action DVS proposes to expand the existing cemetery to include an additional 6,380 preplaced crypts, 2,400 in-ground cremains, a new access road within the cemetery, and conduct maintenance on an existing service seal wall (Exhibits 4-5). Additional improvements include landscaping, a new standalone irrigation system, flower watering stations, improvements to existing stormwater facilities, and new stormwater facilities such as drains, pipe, and a stormwater basin. The limits of disturbance would be approximately up to 20 acres, approximately 12.5 of which are currently in trees that would be removed.
