Reference Number 0000392084 MELROSE AVENUE & N. RHODE ISLAND AVENUE BLOCK #106 LOT #5-33 Furnish and install Stormwater Flow Control as required to de-water construction area. All costs for the Stormwater Flow Control including temporary cofferdam, sheathing, shoring, pumps, and dewatering trenches and excavations if necessary shall be included in the cost as a lump sum for the item "Stormwater Flow Control (Cofferdam & Dewatering)" in the Bid Form. The location, materials, equipment and design of the cofferdam and dewatering trenches are the responsibility of the contractor. Contractor shall provide an engineered design, signed and sealed by a NJ Professional Engineer, for the cofferdam, pumps, and any other sheeting or shoring required for construction. 2. Excavate existing soils on site to the top slab of the existing concrete box culvert. The existing concrete top-slab is approximately 3.70 feet below finished grade as shown on the Contract Documents. All excavated soils shall be properly disposed off-site. 3. Sawcut and remove a 34' x 12' area of the concrete top-slab of the existing box culvert, approximately 12" thick. The existing concrete walls of the box culvert shall remain. The removed concrete top-slab and associated steel reinforcement shall be properly disposed off-site. 4. Furnish and install two (2) 20" D x 12" W cast-in-place concrete beams and associated steel reinforcement as detailed in the Contract Documents. The proposed cast-in-place concrete beams will bear on the existing box culvert walls which are to remain and also be doweled into the remaining box culvert top-slab as shown in the Contract Documents. 5. Furnish and install 12" thick cast-in-place concrete walls and associated steel reinforcement above new cast-in-place concrete beams as shown in the Contract Documents. Proposed concrete walls shall be doweled into cast-in-place concrete beams as detailed in the Contract Documents. 6. Furnish and install one (1) 14'-10" D x 10' W Type 316L stainless steel bar screen as shown in the Contract Documents (Contractor to verify all dimensions prior to fabricating bar screen). This includes the installation of Type 316L stainless steel bottom/side connection tracks and Type 316L stainless steel W-shape members at the top of the proposed bar screen/netting trap locations and mid-span of the proposed bar screen as shown on the Contract Documents. The W-shape members shall be attached to the new cast-in-place concrete walls via stainless steel base plates and anchor bolts as detailed in the Contract Documents. Spacing of stainless steel bars for proposed bar screen shall be 2" clear. 7. Furnish and install one (1) netting trap system/bar screen as described in the Specifications. All connections to existing concrete walls shall be per manufacturer requirements. This also include the installation of a vertical bar rack system as a safety mechanism should the netting system detach. 8. Furnish and install three (3) wall-mounted Type 316 stainless steel access ladders as shown on the Contract Documents. This includes the installation of epoxy-grouted anchors as detailed in the Contract Documents. 9. Furnish and install 8" thick cast-in-place structural concrete top-slab as shown in the Contract Documents, including all associated steel reinforcement. Proposed openings for access hatches shall be installed as shown on the Contract Documents. Bid Intent Not Available 10. Furnish and install three (3) single-leaf 4'x10' and one (1) single leaf 4'x4' stainless steel access hatches as shown in the Contract Documents. 11. Furnish and install steel pipe piles for the proposed transformer pad as shown in the Contract Documents. Steel pipe piles shall be filled with 4000 PSI concrete and be driven to depths/capacity indicated in Contract Documents. 12. Furnish and install cast-in-place concrete grade beams for the proposed transformer pad as indicated on the Contract Documents, including all associated steel reinforcement. 13. Furnish and install cast-in-place concrete walls for the proposed transformer pad as indicated on the Contract Documents, including all associated steel reinforcement. 14. Furnish and install cast-in-place concrete structural top-slab for the proposed transformer pad as indicated on the Contract Documents, including all associated steel reinforcement. 15. Furnish and install cast-in-place concrete stair for the proposed transformer pad as indicated on the Contract Documents, including all associated steel reinforcement. 16. Furnish and install aluminum handrails around the perimeter of the proposed transformer pad as shown on the Contract Documents. 17. Disconnect and demolish the existing 100-amp, 230V phase electrical utility service and replace with a new 1000-amp 3 phase 480V. utility service, new Automatic Transfer switch and power distribution switchboard to operate the existing 500kW diesel generator, (2) 250HP Storm Water Pumps, and all associated equipment. All work shall include the necessary electrical demolition and electrical alterations to connect, restore, and provide a new electrical power distribution, new automatic transfer switch, raceways, electrical equipment, conductors, etc. as described on the contract drawings. 18. Furnish and install a new 1000-amp 3 phase 480V LSIG main circuit breaker with NEMA3R enclosure. 19. Furnish and install a new 1000-amp automatic transfer switch. 20. Furnish and install new 1000-amp 480V electrical distribution switchboard. 21. Revise and restore electrical interconnections to existing pump controllers and associated low voltage circuiting and controls. 22. Furnish and install new feeder cables, raceway, and control wiring as indicated on the contract drawings. 23. Restore all existing exterior surfaces to match existing surfaces. 24. The contractor is responsible to provide sheathing and shoring for the protection of the excavation, adjacent structures throughout all excavation and construction activities. 25. The Contractor is responsible for cleaning and restoration of the site to pre-construction conditions or better and shall provide all dumpsters as required.
