Demolition, site work, paving, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Highland Park, Illinois. Completed plans call for the addition of a 11,500-square-foot educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Gilbane Building Company, Construction Manager, for and acting on behalf of Board of Education of North Shore School District 112, is receiving lump sum proposal forms from interested contractors for the Additions and Renovations of the Sherwood Elemen-tary School. The additions and renovations of Sher-wood Elementary School consists of two separate building additions, totaling approximately 11,500+/-SF, the extension of a drop-off/pickup drive at the west parking lot, a watermain extension, and pavement maintenance and site repairs. The existing roof is a combination of steep slope and low-slope roof systems. The existing building will have selected areas of its low-slope roof and copings replaced with a new roof covering. New MEPFP throughout. Security upgrades, ADA compliance. Flooring will be a combination of modular plank carpet, LVT and wood flooring for gymnasium. A new Distribution kitchen and servery within existing footprint will be constructed to accommodate all new kitchen equipment including walk-in cooler/freezer. Site work includes the reconstruction of concrete sidewalks, curbs & gutter, hard surface play-ground improvements, and parking lot improvements. Pavement removal and replacement shall also occur. Bidders are requested to prequalify with Gilbane Building Company.The prequalification application is to be completed online. Bid Security in the form of a bid bond in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid is required from all Bidders. No other forms of Bid Security will be accepted. Guarantee Bonds in the form of a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the bid will be required from the awarded Bidder. North Shore School District 112 and Gilbane Building Company reserve the right to reject any or all bids. All information submitted as part of this process shall be considered public information under the State Free-dom of Information Act unless specifically disclosed on the applicable information by the Bidder.
