In evaluating the company's proposal, the City may take into account: (1) the Company's past performance in meeting MBE, WBE and SBE goals; (2) the Company's Participation DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT Charlotte Water (CLTWater) is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified engineering and land survey firms (Firms) to provide engineering (design and regulatory permitting) and land survey of miscellaneous watermain and sanitary sewer street main extensions or other miscellaneous watermain and sanitary sewer projects (Project). The firms do not need to provide both services but must submit in coordination with a firm that provides the other service (sub consultant). However, since this contract will mostly be engineering work, the engineering firm must be the lead, and the main point of contact must be a Professional Engineer, licensed to work in the State of North Carolina and competent in water/wastewater. Charlotte Water intends to contract with one or more firms to provide professional engineering and land surveying services for the projects listed above. SCOPE The following is a general description of the tasks required. This is not intended to be all-inclusive, nor is it guaranteed that all of the below tasks will be utilized. A more defined Scope of Work will be developed during negotiation with the selected firms. o An important component of understanding this RFQ, is that the selected firms will need to act as both an extension of the existing staff members of CLTWater or independently when directed to do so. This differs in intent and structure from many other contracts in that the selected firms may perform work for a CLTWater team that will also be doing similar tasks internally on the same or other projects concurrently. The selected firms will, when directed, perform just as CLTWater staff would in part or in whole on a project as described below, including at times performing only the engineering or only the land surveying. o The selected firms will be responsible for the design and/or land survey services (and sometimes regulatory permitting) of an undetermined number of individual street main projects, miscellaneous watermain and sanitary sewer projects, or specialized water/wastewater task needs located throughout the CLTWater service area. o This includes projects located within public R/W, on private property (through acquisition of easements), or within CLTWater (City) owned property. o CLTWater will deliver to the selected firms projects as they become available or as internal capacity limits our own ability to complete projectsin a timely manner. o Each extension project varies in length or scope and is generally less than 1,000 LF in length and within, or adjacent to, the road R/W.
