Renovation of a laboratory facility in New Orleans, Louisiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.
1. It is the intent to provide a 100% turnkey project ready for occupancy upon completion. Items not mentioned in the specifications, nor shown on the drawings but clearly necessary for occupancy and a complete and usable space, must be provided in good working order and 100% operational. 2. Provide all labor, material, equipment and expertise necessary to perform work in accordance with the attached drawings and specifications herein. 3. Protect all remaining utilities, flooring, ceiling, ceiling devices and walls in surrounding areas. 4. Work to be coordinated with client's office requirements and student class schedules. This information will be provided but is subject to change. The LSUHSC Construction Coordinator will keep the contractor informed as soon as possible if/when any changes arise. 5. All demolition work or loud activities shall be scheduled after hours or weekends. No exceptions. 6. Furnish all required shop drawings, fabrication, materials, & work necessary to complete wall repairs. 7. Successful bidder shall verify all measurements and room conditions. 8. MC cabling is not acceptable for use in wall partitions or above ceilings but may be used in whips max 6'-0". 9. Remove all furniture in affected areas prior to construction. 10. Any required sprinkler work shall be performed by a licensed sprinkler contractor. Work shall be coordinated and shall match existing system. Flex heads are not acceptable. Contractor is responsible for sprinkler system submission to the State Fire Marshal for the modifications to the existing system including but not limited to relocation of any existing or addition of any new sprinkler heads or other required fixtures for the work. 11. Prepare surfaces to receive scheduled construction. 12. Contractor is responsible for fire alarm submission to the State Fire Marshal for the modifications to the existing system including but not limited to relocation of any existing or addition of any new smoke detectors, strobes, or other required devices for the fire alarm system. The LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans (LSUHSC) request bids for CSRB Emergency Shower Relocations as specified in the attached specifications and drawings. This project is expected to complete exactly 120 days after the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of $500 per day will be assessed for any delays not caused by LSUHSC. If any person contemplating submitting a bid is in doubt of the meaning of any part of the specifications, plans or other proposed contract documents and/or desired approval of "or equal" products, they may submit to Michael Williams e-mail at MWIL34@LSUHSC.EDU or fax to 504-717-2901 a written request for an interpretation or prior approval not later than NOON on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
