Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Rome, Georgia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The Floyd County Board of Commissioners is accepting sealed RFP's for the purpose of obtaining qualified and experienced bidders to provide Architectural Services for the Etowah Park Ball Field Renovations for Rome/Floyd Parks and Recreation. Experience with athletic fields is highly recommended. This would be an opportunity to meet, see the site, and get a vision for what we would like for this complex. It will give the proposer an opportunity to ask questions, take pictures, get measurements etc. Although it is not mandatory, it is the proposers responsibility to get their own measurements and understanding of what is needed. Floyd County is requesting proposals from qualified architectural firms with recreational field experience to provide architectural design for Etowah Park Ballfield Renovations. Etowah Park is located at 1325 Kingston Hwy. Rome, GA 30165. Services to include design conceptualization, design documents and contract administration, engineering services for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and inspection services. The property is owned by Floyd County. Please submit questions in writing to randy.self@floydcountyga.org deadline for questions is 12:00 PM, Tuesday, August 5, 2025. If you have any questions concerning this package contact: Randy E. Self, Purchasing Director Floyd County Board of Commissioners Twelve East 4th Avenue, Suite 106 Rome, Georgia 30161 Phone: (706) 291-5118 randy.self@floydcountyga.org. There are currently six (6) ball fields. Two lower fields are used as T-Ball fields, and it is the desire to replace those fields with additional parking. There is currently a 2-story building, centrally located, that houses concession, bathrooms, electrical, and storage space. This building will be demolished and replaced with a 1-story building that will house concessions, at least four (4) Unisex Bathrooms (three (3) for public use and one (1) for umpires and scorekeepers), an electrical room, a small office area. Fencing will be removed from all fields and replaced with higher fencing that will have the "angle" at the top for safety especially in the common public walking areas between the fields. Netting is desired over top between the fields as well. Dugouts will be demolished and replaced with Shade Screen areas for dugouts. All power/light poles would stay in place but have lighting fixtures replaced, preferably Musco Lighting. Bleachers would be removed by the County and new ones should be installed. Create a new main entrance gate that would be an area to honor the 6 branches of the military with flagpoles and flags for each branch. There are two areas being looked at for additional parking, but the desire would be to have some additional restrooms added along with 3 batting cages in the area previously discussed where fields 5 & 6 are located. Some LED lighting needs to be added for parking areas. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
