Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility (AWWU) Surface Restoration Contract Surface Restoration Work is generally needed to restore a disturbed area after AWWU has conducted excavation operations to repair a water or sewer appurtenance on its underground infrastructure. This restorative work will include all operations, materials, and working arrangements essential for Restoration of a disturbed area and referred herein as a Designated Work Site, to its pre-existing condition, as close as is possible. Work shall conform to the referenced resources under 100.04 Specifications, Codes, Ordinances, and Standards and changes noted under 100.05 Changes to Municipality of Anchorage Standard Specifications (M.A.S.S.) in these Special Provisions, and the Engineer may direct the Contractor to diverge from these specifications when necessary, and it is in the best interest of the MOA. The Work may include but is not limited to restoring asphalt pavement for roadways, asphalt driveways private and public, pavement markings, concrete driveways-private and public, curb, gutter, and sidewalks; removal of unsuitable fill material and replacement with suitable fill material; topsoil, seeding, flowers, bushes, trees, fencing, retaining walls, and other landscape oddities. It may also include the use of Temporary Patch material when asphalt is not available and could require that these patches be maintained until asphalt is available. The payment for Work shall be on a unit price basis, as listed in the Bid Schedule, unless otherwise described in these Special Provisions and, or agreed to in advance by the Engineer. All Work must be done to the satisfaction of the Engineer, and there is a warranty period of one (1) year once the completed Work is inspected and then accepted by the Engineer as complete. The Surface Restoration Contract has a Not-To-Exceed limit of $1,500,000 per Contract year for all combined Work done under this Contract and may have to be rebid if funding for the Contract exceeds its NTE amount.
