Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in High Point, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a 102,000-square-foot municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
The City of High Point secured property at 205 Model Farm Road for a new electric operations center. The site is currently zoned Employment Center (EC). City staff plans to submit a rezoning application to zone the entire parcel either I-1 or I-2. Water, Sewer and Electric are available to the parcel. There is an existing structure on the parcel that was previously used as a furniture showroom, approximately 40,000 square feet. At this time, it is unclear if the existing structure will be renovated and utilized, or demolished. To design and construct an approximate 30,000 square feet administration office, 20,000 square feet construction crew offices, 52,000 square feet equipment sheds, laydown area, visitor and employee parking area. Site work will include curb and gutter, sidewalks, underground utilities, parking, drive aisles, storm water control measures, and landscaping. The scope of work is to provide design and construction services for the project throughout preconstruction and construction phases, including but not limited to, schematic design, preliminary design, construction documents, coordination with other agencies, geotechnical engineering, surveying, cost opinions during design development, final design meeting State and local requirements, technical specifications, cost opinion at various stages of the project, obtaining all necessary permits, scheduling, cost control, project management, constructing the electric operations center, quality assurance and quality control of design and construction related activities, construction management, completing project close-out activities
