This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

It is the City's intent to enter a two (2) year term contract for powdered activated carbon. Deliveries will be made by order releases from the requesting department or division. Powdered activated carbon shall be furnished and delivered to the City of Kalamazoo, Michigan for use in the Water Reclamation Plant to operate the biophysical treatment system. The successful bidder shall provide and deliver powdered activated carbon in accordance with the following specifications. The bidders shall furnish a certified independent laboratory chemical analysis of product with their bid. This independent lab analysis, containing all the technical specifications, must be dated within six (6) months prior from date of this Invitation for Bids. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN THE BID BEING REJECTED AS NON-RESPONSIVE. Powdered activated carbon furnished shall be a wastewater grade carbon suitable for use in the PACT wastewater treatment system. Wastewater grade carbon shall mean a high particle density carbon that is readily wet table in the treatment system using the City's feed system. The carbon shall be produced by a steam or chemical activation process. Ash content must not exceed 30% of delivered product.
