Work to include dredging by means of mechanical only, temporary stockpiling and dewatering (as applicable), transportation and offsite permanent disposal of dredged materials, and site restoration and cleanup. The Contractor shall include in the proposal price the cost to provide the following: o Maintenance and Guarantee Bond in the amount of 50% of the proposal amount, guaranteeing for a period of one (1) year from final acceptance of the project work. o Letter of Surety, licensed to business in the State of Michigan, stating ability to obtain a Performance Bond, and Labor and Material Bond for 100% of the proposal amount. To be completed by October 24, 2025. o All work must be completed within ten (10) calendar days from the beginning of removal to final clean up. Delays by inclement weather shall be approved by the Township. Contractor shall provide all equipment and materials necessary to complete the work described herein and compliant with the plans, specifications and permitting included with this RFP. The Contractor shall provide a detailed summary of the equipment and services to be provided. The scope of work shall include but shall not be limited to the following: o Excavate silt trap, approximately 20' wide x 100' long, 2' deep (roughly 150 cyd); total volume approved up to 370 cyd per EGLE Permit. o Prior to dredging, a siltation barrier curtain shall be installed in the water to enclose the area of disturbance. o Excavated material may be temporarily stored on-site within the mowed areas of Mayfield Park for dewatering and then spoils then to be moved to an offsite disposal area authorized to accept. o Dewatering plan and stockpiling areas shall be pre-approved by the Township prior to implementation. o Temporary stockpiled areas shall be properly stabilized with temporary soil erosion control measures to ensure containment. o Contractor to provide chain of custody for material disposal to Township. o Contractor shall be responsible for conducting field exploration to verify all conditions prior to beginning work: o Mayfield Pond Park is a year-round public park. The contractor is responsible for providing proper signage, traffic control and implementing safety measures to prevent access to the construction zone. o Contractor shall be responsible for coordinating with property owners and keep drives and roadways accessible at all times. The contractor shall coordinate and provide 24-hour notice if obstructing the driveway. o All work shall remain within the confines of existing Township owned property and/or public ROW including staging, storage and equipment. o Contractor to coordinate in advance site access with Township. o Contractor responsible for providing all temporary facilities including power to complete scope of work. o Complete Miss Dig prior to any underground excavation, as applicable. o Mobilization, site clearing / grubbing, restoration and cleanup per the attached drawing be provided but not limited to removal and disposal of bushes, topsoil, seed and mulch and removal/ disposal of existing fencing to perform work. o Contractor shall take precautions to avoid damage to existing dam and infrastructure. o Contractor shall be responsible for restoring to existing or better conditions any site damage. o Contractor responsible for sweeping streets and removal of debris that is tracked offsite.
