TIMELINE: The Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District (ACRD) is seeking qualified proponents to develop a comprehensive Land Use and Development Plan for Long Beach Airport (LBA), a 1,900-acre property located on the traditional, unceded territory of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation (TFN). OBJECTIVES OF THE RFP To update the 2007 Tofino-Ucluelet Airport Land Use Plan that has become outdated due to major changes including a new terminal, the introduction of scheduled passenger service, and increased traffic. The plan must reduce financial reliance on taxpayers by identifying viable revenue opportunities, reflect TFN values and priorities through relationship-based approaches, align with Transport Canada regulations and local government policies, and position the airport as a regional economic driver that safeguards cultural and environmental stewardship. The evaluation of responses will be based on a number of factors, weighted according to the needs and judgement of the ACRD. Any Proposal will not necessarily be selected. Any implication that the lowest cost or any Proposal will be accepted is hereby expressly negated. The ACRD reserves the right to accept the Proposal which it deems most advantageous, and the right to reject any or all Proposals, in each case without giving any notice. In no event will the ACRD be responsible for the costs of preparation or submission of any Preliminary Submission or Proposal. *Question Deadline: July 31, 2025 at 2:00 pm.
